Planning | Reception Decor
This one is for all of our Camp Retreat brides trying to plan for their special day! This list is specifically for you to help in your decor planning for our big barn!
First, start with the the biggest area, guest seating. Get an estimated guest count + figure out what layout works best for you. A few things to think about when looking at a layout is how you want you head table set up (just a sweetheart table, a big bridal party table, or just reserved seating for your bridal party), also think about where your DJ will be and if you are planning on using the big barn door for a big entrance/exit, you will want to leave some space for that as well.
Once you have your layout planned + know the amount of round + rectangle tables you will be using you can start figuring out exactly what table decor you will need. This is when you will want to really go through our decor + figure out what of ours you will want to use + if there is anything extra you might want to bring in to use, like live florals.
After you have a plan for the guest table area it is time to plan for the other areas of the barn. Starting with the food… We provide + have set up wood buffet tables, a cake table, a gift table, the barn area, and 2 wooden spools.
Cake Table >> Think about what cake stand you want to use, if you want to add any linens/candles/decor to the table and if you having a grooms cake or other sweets how you will set them up on the table.
Gift Table >> Think about what signs/boxes you might want on the table.
Bar Area >> Think about what type of drinks you want, if you want to use glass drink dispensers, and what you would like to put on the large chalk sign.
Spools >> These are great flex tables, you can use them as high tops + just put a little decor on them, use them as a welcome, or use them for appetizers/sweets bar.
Next you will need to think about anything extra you have that you might want to bring in like a special welcome sign, a photo booth, something for a grand exit, a memory table, and favors. We have a few extra tables around the venue set up for these. You want to go ahead and have a general idea of where you would want these things so they don’t get forgotten while you are decorating the day of the event.
This a general overview of things to think about while planning for your reception decor!
The best thing to do is come out to the venue and work it out, so you can see first hand how it will look.
