Vendor Questions
Wedding Planning | Questions to ask Vendors
Wedding Planning is crazy + slightly overwhelming! Between meeting vendors, creating a guest list, and your normal busy life, it can be easy to forget to ask some important questions to your vendors! So here is a list of a few questions you might want to ask your different vendors as you plan for the big day!
Florist |
What time do you typically arrive at the venue to set-up?
Do you charge a delivery fee or any other extra fees?
Cater |
What all is included with your cost? (Delivery, set-up, plates + silverware, cups, etc.)
Based on the ceremony start time what time do they suggest we start dinner?
Do you suggest we have any starters or snack food based on the ceremony start time?
Do you stay and serve the food? Would you serve the cake?
Bakery |
Are plates and silverware included in your cost?
What is your delivery fee?
Do you provide staff to serve the cake?
Photographer |
How many hours does your packages include?
What are some of the typical shots you get at a wedding?
Make sure to have a list of any special photos you want to give your photographer.
What is your average photo turn-around time?
Do you have a second shooter?
Do you carry back-up equipment? What is your plan if something happens and you are unable to shoot my event?
DJ |
Have you been to my venue and know how to properly set-up?
Do you have a battery operated system for the ceremony site?
Do you have back-up equipment if needed? (ex. a speaker goes out)
Are you able to pick up all equipment the night of the event?
These are just a FEW extra questions you might want to ask your vendors, this is in no way a complete list of what all you should ask. I would always check out their website and see if they have a FAQ sections. Also, I would ALWAYS ask for their advice, many vendors have been doing weddings for YEARS and have advice on how to they have seen weddings at there BEST! (Like a cater knows the best time to serve the food + the photographer knows a good time to start an outdoor ceremony for lighting!) Many vendors are happy to help + work with you so help ensure your special day is PERFECT!
